PEG DUNN November 10, 1928 June 26, 2013

Peg Dunn, 84, of Macon, MO, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at her home in Macon.

Peg was born on November 10, 1928, in Hunnington, PA, the daughter of Harold McNeely and Olive (Reynolds) Rose. Peg was united in marriage to Hugh Dunn on June 11, 1949, in Wilmette, IL. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Macon. Peg was a sports announcer for over 50 years at Macon, a co-founder of the Tiger Maws, enjoyed the country club, and playing softball. She was also a member of Women of Note Music Group, the United Methodist Church Choir, and the Die Hard Cubs Fan Club. Peg was Macon’s #1 Sports fan.

Peg is survived by her husband, Hugh of Macon; five children, Buck Dunn and his wife Patty of Macon, Buddy Dunn and his wife Elaine of Independence, MO, Nancy Downing and her husband Mike of Fair Grove, MO, Laurie Cook and her husband Eric of Aurora, CO, and Todd Dunn and his wife Tammy of Lawson, MO; eleven grandchildren, Leslie Muncy and her husband Nic, Heather Brown and her husband Skyler, Ben Dunn and his wife Briged, Nick Dunn, Chris Dunn, Josh Downing, Bryce Downing, Ross Cook, Mallory Cook, Tyler Dunn, Carissa Dunn; four great-grandchildren, Madison Muncy, Amiya Brown, Marleigh Brown, and Hannah Carpenter, one brother, Carl “Bud” Rose of Illinois, one sister, Nancy Mellem of Maryland and many nieces and nephews.

Peg was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Dorothy “Dot” Smith.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm, Monday, July 1, 2013, at the United Methodist Church in Macon with Brother Jim Bolin and Reverend Julius Ketsenburg officiating. Burial will be in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, MO. Visitation will be Sunday, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the church. The family suggests memorials to the Tiger Maws, the United Methodist Church, or the Missouri Valley College Athletic Department. Services under the direction of Hutton and McElwain Funeral Home in Macon.
