Rex Dodd, age 46, of Shelbyville, MO, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2013, in Jackson, NE, as a result of an automobile accident.
He was born July 10, 1966, in Columbia, MO, the son of George William and Leda Marie Lindsey Dodd. On June 1, 2012, he was united in marriage to Donna Kay Leach at Shelbyville, MO. She survives.
Rex is also survived by his mother, Leda Dodd of Shelbyville, MO; three children, Joshua, Bethany and Courtney Dodd all of Shelbyville, MO; three step-children, Anthony Perrigo of Jefferson City, MO, Eric Perrigo and wife Jessie of Dixon, MO and Dari Perrigo of Shelbyville, MO; one brother, Max Dodd and wife Donna of Shelbyville, MO; two nephews, William and Max II and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Dodd; one sister, Debbie Dodd and grandparents Claude and Irene Dodd and Noble and Orma Leda Lindsey.
Rex was a 1984 graduate of North Shelby High School and was a Christian by faith. He was employed by Cerro Copper for sixteen years and was presently employed by BoarMax of Shelbyville. He enjoyed fishing, shooting hoops with his children and playing cards. He loved his family and enjoyed the time he spent with them.
Funeral services will be held at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbina, MO, on Thursday, May 2, 2013, at 2:00 pm with burial to follow at Pleasant Prairie Cemetery, Shelbyville, MO. Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home in Shelbina on Wednesday, May 1, 2013, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. Memorials may be made to the Children's Education Fund.
